From 2011...

Thoughts and prayers to those involved with the tragedy in CO. The guns used were bought at Gander Mountain. Don't post me your hate...I am not against people owning guns but I question the purpose of owning and being able to purchase high capacity munitions.

My heart goes out to all the people and their families, can't begin to imagine the fear and terror. Absolutely no hate from me, completely agree, no reason IMO to purchase high capacity ammunition. I remember this video, thanks for posting this again, actually was thinking about the video this morning. I wouldn't even allow my two daughters to play with toy guns or water guns when they were kids, perhaps crazy to some, but important to me, saw no reason to play games like this.

Nantz, this is just perfect. The constitution was addressing "muskets" as arms to bear.
I too would endorse the right to carry a musket.
Perhaps only one person would have been shot last night while the shooter reloaded or whatever it is they do with muskets.

Rose, unfortunately, it doesn't matter whether you give your children toy guns. Weaponry must be genetic as I too never had a toy gun for my children, but somehow when the boys on the street played, cops and robbers or cowboys and indians, something was used as a weapon.....the beginning of "Method" acting.

I hear you Marian, and your right, I was allowed to play with toy guns, I made the decision when I was a teen that never will I own a gun. I'm a huge animal lover, and couldn't stand to see dead deer attached to cars during hunting season, it affected me badly and that, with another reason is why. Exactly about the muskets, I know, I know, it is in the constitution, but perhaps there are certain things that could be updated, just a wishful thought. These horrific situations, and nobody seems to listen.

Very very sad. Guns aren't that big a deal to me at all. I wasn't raised with them, but I had my own capgun as a child. Brian was a hunter, Russell is a hunter and I own my own revolver. I don't understand the need for semi automatic assault weapons though.

Like the rest of you I am sadden by the senseless loss of life and injury in Colo.. I live in an urban area and see no reason whatsoever to own a gun, hand gun, shot gun or rifle of any kind. I understand that people hunt and that legally people have the right to own guns. But in an urban area the only thing available to "hunt" is other people.

I applaud you parents who've decided not to reinforce the gun culture. Sorry about the rant but another senseless rampage due to gun violence just puts me over the edge.

I'm over the edge as well, not only after these horrific massacres, but everyday with all the people that get senselessly shot. Vikeau, I have not ever in my life even touched a gun, and made it so far, and never intend to go touch or own a gun, this is the way I choose to live my life.

I used to be the director of a child care centre, and our policy was no toy guns. Well, it made no difference at all. The boys, and it was primarily boys, would use stick, make guns out of Lego, use rulers, or if all else failed, use their hands, as they were determined to indulge in gun play. I have 2 sons, and when my first son was born, I told family and friends not to buy him toy guns (much to the amusement of my husband). This was before my child care centre experience, and as soon as he was able to walk, my son would use anything he could to simulate gun play. Children are going to play with guns, no matter how they have to do it. I think all we can do is teach them right from wrong, and hope we have raised them well.

I appreciate both sides of the argument. In my instance, my brothers and father hunted and I got to see responsible people taking great care to be safe. They never hunted for sport and only for the food. I think there are others who are just as responsible, and sadly, those who are not. I don't know how you can go online and purchase 6000 rounds of ammo and not raise any red flags. When I heard this guy had purchase a Glock it brought back memories of one of my old bosses. Scary.
