'Chained' picture of the day...

I was going through the trailer again and captured this shot...does anyone else think that it looks like some kind of yearbook and revenge type anger?

Sure does to me, definitely looks like a yearbook, my yearbook was set up like that. I can also see that the girl (which it appears to be) or guy must have really pissed Bob off, you have great eyes to have caught that, thanks.

I did notice that in the trailer but I'm not sure if its Bob or the boy. By the look of the wrist I'm thinking its the boy. Also looks to be right handed so its probably not Bob.

Nice catch, vikeau and I purposely didn't use a name because it was so fast that I wasn't sure if it was Bob or Rabbit. LOL, can't tell you have much I enjoy dissecting this movie with all of you.

Can't wait till we get to see it and then there will be some real dissecting going on.

LOL - good one, Vikeau!

Your right Vikeau on the wrist, it does look to be the boys. So, the kid came upon the yearbook, mom and Bob went to high school together, kid is angry and destroyed because of what Bob did to his mom, and kid takes his emotions out on his mom's picture, because over the years Bob has been bad mouthing mom and telling him all bad things about her. LOL mind is working on hyper speed this morning...

That's an interesting take, Rose, hadn't thought of that. I think somehow Bob and Sarah Fittler have some past history. Also, there is a character playing Bob's mother and that should be telling too. May have started with her.

Always the mother is to blame LOL No wonder as soon as you have a kid the guilt begins. And I may be mistaken, but have not seen a last name for Bob, which is curious. The number one thing for me, in the beginning I could not understand exactly how this was going to play out, very rare that one would kidnap a child, and there wouldn't be a sexual component. Thankfully there doesn't appear at all to be that, so there just has to be, in my mind some family connection. I will be honest, if that is what was going to be in the movie I doubt if I would see it, and couldn't see Vincent playing a role with that particular topic, he has kids, and just can't see it. Hope I'm not going too far out on a limb saying this.

Couldn't agree with you more, Rose. I don't see Vincent agreeing to doing something in that vein you speak of. I could have sworn when this movie was just starting to film that IMDb listed Bob's last name as 'Fittler' but I could be wrong. I just wonder how it doesn't appear that anyone is looking for the boy since the mother is seen on the phone telling her husband she's on her way. Or maybe that part is yet to be revealed. Notice you don't see any photos with Sarah's husband in them.

I must have missed that with his last name. I don't know much about taxi cabs except for the TV show Taxi, and Louie DePalma dispatching the cabs, do some cab companies allow you to take the cab home? Is this a cab company in the area, or is Bob freelancing around the area? Somebody had to be looking for the little boy, the father of course, guess we will see. The cab issue has bothered me from the beginning LOL

It depends on the setup, Rose. Some companies are independently owned and have fleets of cabs. Drivers 'lease' the vehicle but are not employees of the company and are at the mercy of the dispatcher to get a shift. Some pay a company a fee and purchase their own vehicle. In NYC, drivers are required to purchase a 'medallion' which is a certificate in order to legally pick up passengers flagging them down on the street. It is a valuable piece of paper and an investment. I remember when I worked at Washington Mutual and processed applications and one of the territories we covered was NYC. Some of the applicants used their medallions as collateral or asset with some being as high as 150 grand in value.

Thank-you for all that info, the different places that I've lived in my life, never have used a taxi, the good old city bus back in the day is what I used.

Good point Rose but I think the sexual component is passing the perversion on to the next generation.

As for the taxi issue I really had to laugh. There is a concept here in Baltimore called "hacking". Which is basically anybody in a car picking someone up. But the hand motion to get a "hack" here in Baltimore is uniquely Baltimore.
I'm trying to decipher the picture but if its from the 70s or early 80s the hair style is no indication whether man or woman.

Finally it just hit me that Bob in fact can be Rabbit's Dad. Way out theory but that's my early guess to the twist.

Rose said...

Vikeau, I was thinking along those lines, that Bob could be Rabbit's dad, somehow I think the two will be related, just not sure how. What have I all been missing never having taken a taxi cab LOL

Nantz said...

vikeau, we have that in Pittsburgh but the cars are called 'jitneys' and the people are 'jitney drivers'. You both raise an interesting point about Bob having some type of relationship with Rabbit. It seems strange that he would randomly take a woman with a child when all the other victims seem to be young unattached women without children.

Rose said...

That's exactly what I'm thinking, and not only that, it is a huge risk to take the child, so somehow there must be a connection. I'm driving myself crazy trying to figure it out, and I'll be wrong anyway.

Nantz said...

Exactly, and nothing against Julia Ormond who I think is a gorgeous woman but she is older than the other victims. Soooo, I'm thinking maybe her husband won her over Bob and he is smarting about it and taking their prize possession in revenge. And, notice that he is said to be raising him as his own son. The son that he could have had with the rejected object of his affections.

Nantz I think you got the plot, I'm along the same lines, now watch all this thinking and then the plot is all different. I'm hoping tomorrow when it is showed at that festival some reporter or person seeing the movie doesn't blurt out the whole premise.
