HELP VINCENT D'ONOFRIO HELP OTHERS FACEBOOK PAGE
As many of you know, last year when Vincent made some public appearances in Utah, a group of fans coordinated the collecting of birthday cards to present to Vincent during one of these appearances. These weren't just any birthday cards...these cards contained donations to one or more of the charities Vincent supports...and he opened each one himself. We raised quite a bit of money and it was really the beginning of our efforts as fans to help him help others.
Even though the appearances in Utah this year are a bit earlier than last year, we'd like to do the birthday card fund raiser again. To participate, simple buy or create a birthday card of your own design for Vincent to open next month. All monies collected this year will benefit David Jorgensen and his family, as described in previous posts. Donations can be made either in cash or check (made out to David Jorgensen). If you prefer to make a donation electronically, you can send money via PayPal to davidjorgensencharity@yahoo.com.
Here is a link to the video of the birthday cards being presented to Vincent last year. You don't want to miss out on this rare opportunity not only to contribute to a worthy cause, but also to have Vincent personally open something that came from you!
All birthday cards should be sent early enough for them to arrive NO LATER THAN April 12th to the following address:

We have just been made aware of a need within Vincent's family that we can all come together to help serve. David Jorgensen, Toni's brother-in-law and Ron's brother, has been diagnosed with small cell lung cancer that has metastasized to the brain. In January he underwent brain surgery as well as suffering from a stroke. Soon after this, a blood clot developed which requires a life-long treatment costing $500 per month, which is in addition to hospital bills. David has a large family but he is not able to work and his wife has had to leave her job to care for him. Needless to say, the situation is dire.
Vincent, Toni and Ron have always put the needs of others ahead of their own, and we have seen first hand the good that has been done through their charitable work. Now it is their family that needs the help.
Going forward, and until further notice, any fund raising efforts publicized through this page will go to benefit David Jorgensen and his family. Specifically, we anticipate Vincent-related items being put up for auction on ebay in the near future. Whenever we become aware of an auction the proceeds of which will benefit the Jorgensens, we will make that fact known to his fans. We will also keep everyone updated on all future fund raising events as details emerge.
Thanks to all for your support of past fund raising efforts such as the calendar. Vincent, Toni and Ron recognize we are a generous group because of the success of these projects. Lets show them just how generous we can be!

I think its sweet that you all want to help, however there are other people in need that are not related to a millionaire. If i owned a multi million dollar home in Manhattan and also a quaint weekend home in upstate ny i would be more than capable of taking care of my own family and wouldnt dare ask for help. Maybe mrs. Vdo can sell some of her high end items to help out but its silly to ask fans.
I think that you could send Vincent a birthday card without a donation just to wish him a good day. Beyond that, there are fans who admire him and his charity work and maybe turning it around to return the gesture. Yes, he is a millionaire but he doesn't have to be the cash cow that everyone runs to when tragedy strikes or if they want something. We don't know if he is already helping as it wasn't stated and isn't anyone's business either.
You are right and im sorry if i offended anyone. I have just never heard of a celebrity asking his fans to pay for his families medical bills.
You have an amazing blog. I love coming on here every so often to stare at pics of vincents lovely face.
Don't ever apologize for having an opinion...I don't want that here. You, and everyone else, has the right to speak your mind. The group was started by fans and not as a request from Vincent. Thank you for the compliments...I appreciate it more than you know.
My sister died of cancer 2 yrs ago, my husband some years before that. I cant really say that I would have wanted to receive bday cards with checks inside in re cancer support/meds, etc. Cancer has its own special way of turning a family upside down. The VDO family may wish to deal with this privately.
Great new banner Nantz. I'll just leave it at that.
I believe the request came from Toni, sister-in-law of David. I juggle with news from Facebook, Twitter, Google, wherever I can to bring it all together to one place...my site. Some people might want to participate in this event and maybe wouldn't have seen it otherwise.
Everyone is different in dealing with things such as this, and I would hate to think that people would expect Vincent to anty up for every family crisis. But somehow, I think he would go to the end of the earth for his Mom. We have lots of fund raisers for people in our community for things such as this. I guess I feel I have my own family and close, good friends to help, what little I can. Cancer is really a terrible disease that seems to hit many, many families. I wish them the best and pray that good things will come their way.
I'm not going to please everyone with everything I post so I'd just say take a gander at what you like and weed out what you don't
We Certainly Killed The Messenger On This One! Sorry Nantz! Thanks For Putting Up With Us.

And - as far as I'm concerned - you're doing a fabulous job keeping us in the loop! :-)
Hang in there Nantz. You are doing just fine!
Its all a personal choice we make whether to contribute to such causes. Sometimes it does help to reach out beyond an immediate community for assistance. The information was posted and Nantz just passed it on. Thanks.
It's not a big deal...I've had to tackle far more serious issues via my site in the past so this doesn't offend me at all.
I will donate a little something via paypal - a lot easier than having to go to the bank and change money ...
Blogger’s brilliant Efforts are really appreciable. Anyone can easily understand the thoughts. Also I like the conclusions made on this topic which is really very informative.
